Dictate-Expert learns with you. When the speech recognition mistranscribes a word, you can correct the error directly in the app and report it to us. Every report feeds into improving the model – so the app gets more accurate with each version. Offline transcription will never match the accuracy of a cloud-based LLM, but it works fully GDPR-compliant on your device. Once we release local AI post-processing in your own network, the overall quality will approach cloud solutions – privacy-compliant. Yes, 100%. The speech recognition model is installed on your device together with the app. All transcription runs exclusively on your iPhone – no servers, no cloud, no data transfer. The app works perfectly even in courthouses, airplanes, or areas without mobile coverage.
Transcription quality is very good and is influenced by several factors: background noise, dictation speed, clear pronunciation, and dialects. For optimal results, we recommend calm dictation discipline: don't speak too fast, pronounce words clearly, and pause briefly before numbers, dates, and commands like 'new paragraph' or 'new line'. Don't be discouraged – the results are remarkably good even without subsequent AI correction.
You can mark errors directly in the transcription window and enter the correct version. These word pairs (wrong → right) are collected in the app. You can send these corrections to us, and we work to ensure the app no longer makes these mistakes in the future.
Audio transcription and data storage on the device are fully GDPR compliant. However, if you send transcripts via email or copy them to the clipboard, the data leaves the device – this step is your responsibility. We are working intensively on an all-in-one solution where transcripts can be fed into your own network and processed by a local AI in a privacy-compliant way.
